Dominican Schools, Izuoma formally known as Dominican Nursery and Basic School, Mirinwanyi Asa came into existence on the 26th of September, 2006. Under the administration of Rev. Fr. Damian Nwanna OP. It kicked off in an old small building within St Theresa Catholic Church premises at Mirinwanyi. It started with only nursery one to primary three classes, and a total population of five academic staff, four non-academic staff and about fifty pupils.
At the beginning, it seemed like a dream that can not be achieved but as time went by, it turned out to be the right step in the right direction. ‘’A thousand years is like one day in the sight of God; says a Psalmist in (Psalm 90:4)
By the 2007, the school witnessed tremendous growth in population. The increase in number of pupils and staff led to the reconstruction of the building to an ultra modern classroom blocks with befitting administrative offices. In addition, three new buses were acquired to facilitate the movement of pupils to and from school.
